Axolotl EMR Lite Receives ONC-ATCB Complete Ambulatory EHR Certification

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Axolotl Corp., now OptumInsight, announced that its Axolotl EMR Lite, version 9.2 (formerly Elysium version 9.2) has received certification as a Complete Ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) system by InfoGard Laboratories, a National Coordinator for Health IT Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB).

The certification validates that Axolotl EMR Lite supports the 2011/2012 Meaningful Use criteria, and physicians may use the service to qualify for health IT incentive payments provided by Medicare and Medicaid through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act1.

Integrated with the Axolotl suite of health information exchange (HIE) solutions and with any practice management system, Axolotl EMR Lite enables physicians to connect immediately with the HIE and other care providers in their area to share data and collaborate on patient care quickly and securely.

“Axolotl EMR Lite enables physicians to access patient and medical information resources that are vital to improving quality and coordination of care, while supporting their efforts to demonstrate Meaningful Use of health IT and qualify for federal incentive payments,” said Glenn Keet, president of Axolotl. “In order to enable advanced health information exchange capabilities through a robust, vendor-neutral platform, we offer Axolotl EMR Lite and Axolotl EHR, which includes an integrated practice management system, as solutions that help physicians quickly implement and use health IT to improve patient care.”

Earlier this year, Axolotl introduced Axolotl EHR, also 2011/2012 Complete EHR certified by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®). Axolotl EHR is a comprehensive and easy-to-use EHR and integrated practice management system that helps doctors automate administrative tasks such as scheduling and billing, and to access important patient and clinical information, and coordinate care with other care providers.

About ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification

The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that EHR technology is capable of meeting the 2011/2012 criteria approved by the HHS. The certifications include Complete EHRs, which meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology and EHR Modules, which meet one or more - but not all - of the criteria. ONC-ATCB certification aligns with Health Information Technology: Initial Set of Standards, Implementation Specifications, and Certification Criteria for Electronic Health Record Technology published in the Federal Register in July 2010 and strictly adheres to the test procedures published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) at the time of testing.

Axolotl Elysium EMR version 9.2 was certified on June 8, 2011, Certification ID number: # IG-2400-11-0075. A complete listing of the certification criteria and the ambulatory clinical quality measures to which Axolotl Elysium EMR has been certified can be found at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT Website.
