MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ApeniMED, a leader in healthcare interoperability and federal agency connectivity, recently obtained certification as a Health Information Handler (HIH) by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), part of the US Department of Health and Human Services. ApeniMED successfully completed all critical integration tests as part of the Electronic Submission of Medical Documentation (esMD) Program from CMS.
As a certified HIH, ApeniMED now officially offers esMD services with ApeniMED eAudit. This service offers providers and supporting vendors a secure, efficient solution to electronically respond to RAC, MAC, CERT, or PERM audit requests from CMS based upon the latest Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN) CONNECT standards. The esMD Program was designed to automate the CMS audit response process, eliminating paper-based workflows including the printing and mailing of physical documentation. ApeniMED eAudit will enable healthcare providers to submit audit responses electronically with tracking to ensure records are received and processed.
“Our eAudit service is revolutionizing the way providers process audit requests,” said John Fraser, CEO of ApeniMED. “With the number of audits expected to double in the next year, ApeniMED eAudit ensures the efficient and reliable delivery of supporting medical documentation, boosts administrative efficiencies, and provides peace of mind when responding to an audit from CMS.”
ApeniMED successfully demonstrated ApeniMED eAudit at the annual Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference and Exhibition February 20-24 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
ApeniMED provides clinical networking interoperability solutions that enable electronic exchange of health information between healthcare providers and stakeholders. Founded in 2007 by experts in healthcare technologies, ApeniMED is an industry-leader in health information exchange (HIE) and federal agency connectivity using the Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN).
