Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s efforts to promote health and wellness in its workplaces earned the company first place in the Large Category of the Business Journal’s 2012 Healthiest Employers Awards.
Businesses competing in the Healthiest Employers Awards were divided into three categories based on the size of their employee population. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s “Healthiest Employer Index” of 92.1 was the highest score of any winner across all three award categories (Small, Medium and Large).
“It’s an honor to be recognized as a leader in workplace wellness,” said Larry Schreiber, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Wisconsin. “As a health insurance company, we take seriously the obligation to practice what we preach, and are humbled to have our efforts validated by the Business Journal’s Healthiest Employers Awards.
