Advocate Health Care System Signs 3rd Contract with PerfectServe

Advocate Trinity Hospital will use PerfectServe to improve clinician-to-clinician communications and care coordination

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Advocate Trinity Hospital, part of the Advocate Health Care system, recently signed an agreement to utilize PerfectServe’s clinical communications system. This is PerfectServe’s third contract with the 11-hospital Advocate Health Care System, the largest integrated health system in the state of Illinois and one of the nation’s top 10 health systems.

PerfectServe enables hospitals and physician practices to eliminate communication breakdowns and improve the coordination of care. The first two Advocate hospitals to use this system are Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Ill., and Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill.

“Our goal is to improve two-way communications among physicians,” said Jon Bruss, president of Trinity. “With PerfectServe, we will have a more effective way to keep track of how physicians wish to be contacted, so in turn we can successfully contact them.”

“With our current process, it’s very hard for physicians to return calls to patients and other colleagues,” noted Dr. Diana Grant, vice president of medical management at Trinity. “We need better doctor-to-doctor communications, and PerfectServe will improve that for us.”

According to Bruss, “Nurses also have a hard time reaching physicians, which presents opportunities in delays in reaching the physicians. Through PerfectServe, we hope to minimize those delays.”

“We are continually working to make Trinity Hospital the preferred place to practice for both our physicians and our nurses,” said Meg DeYoung, market vice president of customer and support services at Advocate Trinity Hospital and Advocate Christ Medical Center. “PerfectServe will enable us to take a next step in improving physician and staff satisfaction while providing the highest quality of care for our patients.”

Located in Chicago, Ill., Advocate Trinity Hospital is a 250-bed hospital with over 300 physicians with expertise in more than 50 specialties and subspecialties. Trinity Hospital cares for more than 90,000 patients each year.

“The Advocate Health System and Trinity Hospital have solid reputations for quality, which PerfectServe will help support,” said Terry Edwards, chief executive officer of PerfectServe. “We look forward to helping the hospital’s clinicians improve their efficiency, reduce risk and enhance their ability to coordinate care.”

PerfectServe has four core capabilities that facilitate fast, accurate and reliable communications that benefit hospitals and their clinicians:

  • A physician-centric, rules-based communications workflow engine that allows physicians to filter and control the communications they receive based on their practice workflow and personal contact preferences.
  • A single network platform and directory that connects every medical staff member with easy access via voice search, Web and mobile interfaces.
  • An integrated practice component that enables physicians to control the flow of communications received through their offices.
  • Mobile tools and a 24/7 help center staffed with clinical communications experts who make it easy for physicians to keep their rules current and optimize their communications workflow.
