Acute Care, Critical Access Hospital Systems Select Greenway's PrimeSUITE EHR

Integrated Speech Understanding, Mobile Clinic, Patient Portal and Specialty Module Included in Hospital Clinic Installations to Coordinate Care and Complete Data Interoperability

CARROLLTON, Ga., Feb. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Tri-State Memorial Hospital in Clarkston, Wash. and nearby Pullman Regional Hospital have selected Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc.'s integrated electronic health record (EHR), practice management and interoperability solution PrimeSUITE® 2011 to advance care in hospital-owned clinic networks and successfully interoperate with institutional systems.

According to Pullman Physician Clinic Administrator Pete Peters, healthcare providers selected Greenway® solutions following an evaluation of EHRs that included demonstrations and referenced site visits to practices utilizing PrimeSUITE.

"I set some minimal criteria around high KLAS scores and CCHIT certification and arranged site visits," said Peters, "but at the end of the day the doctors picked Greenway to bring the best resources together to benefit the community. Integration was important to make sure all of the hospital applications talk to each other, and the availability of HITECH funds did help us make this decision because meeting meaningful use criteria will keep us eligible over time."

Pullman Regional Hospital is a designated Level IV trauma center, houses surgical and endoscopy centers and provides more than a dozen medical specialties, and will utilize Greenway solutions in its ENT, pediatric and behavioral health clinics, and within a central billing office.

In addition to the clinical, financial and administrative interoperability of PrimeSUITE, the ENT clinic will also utilize Greenway's allergy module for otolaryngology. The allergy module enables serum development and auto filling of serum sheets, tracks allergens tested, integrates lot administration and tracks patient adherence and integrates the data into billing and claims processing.

Each clinic will utilize PrimeSPEECH™ for the innovative integration of clinical data directly into patient charts that advances basic transcription into real-time, XML-based speech understanding content as searchable and structured data for instantaneous review, editing and updates.

Clinic providers will also utilize PrimeMOBILE™, a downloadable application onto Apple, Android and other hand-held devices for secure and remote access to ambulatory and hospital-based patient data. PrimeMOBILE provides a range of Summary Documents, as well as patient schedules and lab results, and also integrates charge capture and other administrative functions.

Tri-State Memorial Hospital serves patients in a 10-county region in Washington, Oregon and Idaho, and has received Best Practice recognition for its public reporting of quality data.

"We chose Greenway because the solutions seemed very intuitive and was well received by our physicians and clinical staff," said Sandi Kramer, RN, M.Ed., Tri-State director of clinical services. Kramer said Greenway's standard pricing that does not charge for upgrades or ongoing requests was also a factor, as were site visits and demonstrations. "We had a practice-specific demonstration for our subspecialties. This was especially helpful for providers to see more of what the system could do for them in the specific specialty."

For its primary care, nephrology and wound care clinics, Tri-State will utilize PrimeSUITE and PrimeSPEECH, and the addition of Greenway's integrated online portal PrimePATIENT®.

PrimePATIENT streamlines appointment scheduling, registration and prescription renewal, and provides review of lab results and increased communication through Ask A Doctor features. The availability of a health history repository and the empowerment of patient initiatives it provides is a goal of meaningful use stages and of the Department of Health and Human Services "Personalize Care" goals.

Kramer added that meaningful use incentives capture for clinic providers and participation in proposed Accountable Care initiatives were long-term implementation considerations.

"Meaningful use and Greenway's reputation and awards in this area were certainly a big part of our decision-making process," she said. "We have also had discussions about accountable care. It is obvious to us that our Greenway system will be an essential tool for us to manage our community's health."
