34 hospital employees test positive for TB

During routine employee testing in January and February, 34 employees at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Toms River, N.J. tested positive for exposure to tuberculosis, Asbury Park Press reports. No one has contracted TB, according to CEO Patty Ostaszewski. A review of all patients admitted over the past year did not identify any known TB patients. Somebody who came to the hospital likely exposed staff to TB, according to Ostaszewski. "It could have been a patient or a visitor," she said. "It could have been anybody." Article
