Lightbeam scoops up Jvion to expand AI, SDOH analytics capabilities

Lightbeam Health Solutions, a population health management company, has scooped up Jvion and its AI-powered predictive analytics capabilities.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Atlanta-based Jvion also developed social determinants of health software. The strategic acquisition combines Lightbeam’s health analytics and outcomes for payers and providers with Jvion’s clinical intelligence and predictive technology, the company said in a press release.

Lightbeam expects the acquisition to further enhance and expand the company's proactive and preventive capabilities, bringing SDoH and health equity offerings to tens of millions of patients.

Lightbeam acquired remote patient monitoring startup CareSignal last November to integrate remote monitoring capabilities into its platform.

Jvion launched in 2011 and its prescriptive intelligence solution combines clinical, socioeconomic, environmental and behavioral data and applies sophisticated algorithms to forecast patient risk and provoke clinical intervention. The technology helps healthcare professionals and systems prevent avoidable harm and associated costs.

Jvion clients will gain access to an advanced suite of evidence-based deviceless RPM programs, Lightbeam executives said, with the aim of improving clinical outcomes, reducing avoidable readmissions and delivering reliable decreases in utilization across disparate patient populations.

Given the current labor shortages in healthcare, Jvion's clinical AI solution and CareSignal's RPM capabilities can help scale staffing efficiency by bringing patient screening and care management to patients wherever they are in their care journey, Lightbeam executives said.

“Together, Lightbeam and Jvion’s technologies will bring critical, proactive, and scalable insights to populations across all types of value-based care models,” said Tom Zajac, executive chairman of Jvion in a statement. “The Jvion team believes strongly in the purpose and promise of our integrated offerings, and I am excited for the Jvion team to begin this next chapter with Lightbeam.”

The acquisition is also specifically engineered to benefit current Jvion clients by increasing the value of solutions already in use. “The breadth and timeliness of the combined technology and services will extend fully, and as a top priority, to our clients and partners,” said Pat Cline, CEO of Lightbeam.
