Function Health lands $450M in growth financing to scale tech-enabled preventive health

Function Health, a company that offers lab testing and body scans for early disease detection, landed $450 million in growth financing to scale its tech-enabled personalized preventive health services.

General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund backed the hefty mega-round. It comes eight months after Function Health secured $298 million in a series B funding round.

Function Health, which launched in 2023, offers a membership-based platform that provides patients with access to more than 160 biomarker lab tests. Function also makes MRI and CT imaging available for scanning signals of cancer, aneurysms, strokes and hundreds of other conditions across more than 200 locations nationwide.

"Our mission is simple: enable you to live 100 healthy years. Everyone deserves to feel their best and avoid suffering," said Jonathan Swerdlin, co-founder and CEO of Function, in a statement. "Every dollar invested in Function is a vote for one hundred healthy years for eight billion people. This growth financing allows us to pull the inevitable and optimistic future of health into the present."

Function aims to bring lab testing, imaging and personalized intelligence into a single platform designed for lifelong health, according to the company.

The company made three acquisitions in the past 15 months as it builds out the infrastructure for personalized, preventive health. It picked up Ezra in May 2025 to integrate lab testing capabilities with AI-powered full-body scans. The addition of mobile healthcare company Getlabs in April to enable at-home or in-office blood draws, and the acquisition of SuppCo added nutritional supplement platform to the company's services.

"This financing reflects our belief that Function is one of the defining companies of our generation," said Pranav Singhvi, partner and co-head of CVF, General Catalyst in a statement. "Function has created an entirely new approach to health that we have never had before. We believe Function is uniquely positioned to reach millions more people, and we're proud to support the next phase of its growth."

As a personal health platform, Function Health's vision from the start was to offer a 360-degree perspective of an individual’s health, Swerdlin told Fierce Healthcare back in May 2025.

“It's really important that somebody fully understand what's happening in their body continuously throughout their lifetime so they can be ahead of any issues as well as make sure that they feel their best doing things in their life that's in service of their health,” he said.
