OIG makes recommendations for effective hospital compliance programs

If your hospital wants to create an effective compliance program, it should follow four steps recently outlined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of the Inspector General. Hospitals should clearly define the jobs of their audit, compliance and legal departments, as well the departments' relationships with one another; assess the organization's protocols for gathering information and reporting issues; identify and audit potential risk areas; and encourage compliance throughout the enterprise, according to the OIG. Read the full article at FierceHealthcare
