Hospitals take on added financial risk

Risk continues to shift to the provider community and hospital management must make the necessary adjustments, according to a recent opinion piece in Strategy + Business. The article's authors, both partners with Booz & Co., say that hospitals should identify their particular operational niche, reduce their cost of care and adjust their finances to operate in an environment of bundled payments and other restrictions to reimbursement.
