A study by PriceWaterhouseCoopers concludes that hospitals ordering through distributors save time and money compared to orders directly from a manufacturer. According to the study, released by the Health Industry Distributors Association, a distributor order is about six times faster to dispatch compared to ordering directly from the manufacturer, and the cost per distributor order for a hospital was $67, compared to $131 when ordering from the manufacturer. Study
