Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management launched a new program for healthcare executive leadership to bolster strategic planning, operational improvement, financial decision-making and change management
The program, called Delivering Results, Innovation & Value in Execution (DRIVE) is slated to begin in October 2026. The program is designed “to address one of healthcare’s most persistent gaps: turning insight into action," according to the research university. More specifically, it aims to help mid- to senior-level healthcare leaders transform strategies through real-world problem solving.
Participants bring pressing issues from their own organizations and work through them to develop and refine solutions. Through a combination of online coursework, in-person sessions and mentorship from faculty and experienced healthcare executives, participants will apply leadership frameworks and develop capabilities across strategic design.
After completing eight integrated courses, participants will present a brief presentation on their solution and implementation plan. DRIVE intends to produce immediate solutions for organizations that can be implemented on their timeline, according to the organization.
“Every health system has leaders who understand strategy,” said Andrew Medvedev, dean of the Weatherhead School of Management in a statement. “Less common are the outcome owners who can help strategy survive contact with the messy reality of healthcare delivery. DRIVE is built to develop them—and to send back a real initiative already in motion as the proof.”
The program is designed for mid- to senior-level professionals across the healthcare ecosystem across a broad range of functional disciplines and organizational leadership roles, including clinical, administrative, operations, HR and talent development, IT and digital health, population health and community health and quality, patient experience and finance.
