Each of the 118 facilities on U.S. News & World Report's annual list of "Most Connected" hospitals achieved either Stage 6 or Stage 7 recognition on HIMSS Analytics' EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM) scale, according to a recent article in CMIO. The EMRAM scale scores hospitals on their progress in completing the eight stages to creating a paperless patient record environment, according to HIMSS' website. Overall, there were 23 stage 7 hospitals, including the Mayo Clinic, Children's Hospital of Boston, and several hospitals affiliated with Kaiser Permanente. Article
