Surescripts expanding into HIE with investment in Kryptiq

Electronic prescribing network Surescripts is expanding into full-fledged health information exchange with an undisclosed investment in clinical messaging service provider Kryptiq, of Beaverton, Ore. Surescripts will make use of Kryptiq's technology to offer three types of subscription-based services: Net2Net Connect, which will allow healthcare organizations and HIEs to send and receive clinical data outside their own networks; Message Stream, for physician practices to exchange clinical information between EMRs; and Clinical Message Portal, so those without EMRs can send clinical messages. All three services should be operational by January, Health Data Management reports. Article
