More time needed for Stage 2 MU implementation

More than three-fourths of health IT professionals surveyed said they thought the regulatory timeline for Stage 2 of the Meaningful Use program did not provide enough time to implement and test software to qualify for Stage 2 funding, according to a survey from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. The results shows that more than 80 percent of respondents said that eligible hospitals and professionals will need one to two years to test their systems between when Stage 2 rules are published and when Stage 2 actually begins.
