CMS Meaningful Use payments close to $2B

Close to $2 billion has been paid to providers by both Medicare and Medicaid for the electronic health record incentive program, Health Data Management reports. Overall, more than 10,000 eligible professionals have received $920.3 million Medicare Meaningful Use incentive dollars. More than 11,000 providers have received roughly $916 million in payments from Medicaid meeting for Meaningful Use requirements. Eligible providers have until Feb. 29, 2012 to attest for 2011 Meaningful Use money. Article
