LGBTQ+ provider Folx Health announces new employer partner Chronosphere

Folx Health, the virtual provider of LGTBQ+ care, has a new employer partnership with Chronosphere.

Chronosphere is an observability platform, helping engineers understand the health of their internal data. Its more than 250 employees and their dependents now have access to Folx Health’s E2E virtual primary care, care navigation and other offerings.

“We take diversity, equity and inclusion seriously at Chronosphere. Beyond building internal employee resource groups, we understand that the onus is on us to provide all employees with the benefits and tools they need to lead their best lives - both personally and professionally,” said Gabriela Serret-Campos, global head of people and talent at Chronosphere, in a press release.

As a startup, Folx Health has expanded rapidly since its founding in 2020. In 2022, it launched an enterprise solution for employers. “With 50% of queer and trans folks not out in the workplace, offering discreet healthcare benefits like ours is more vital than ever,” Liana Douillet Guzmán, CEO of Folx Health, said in a press release.

In addition to virtual primary care and navigation services, Folx Health offers peer and expert-led support groups, a library of resources and an enterprise solution specific to employers. Guzmán believes Folx Health’s benefits are appealing for its wide array of solutions. “Even though it’s focused on a very specific community, the solution’s actually very broad,” she told Fierce Healthcare.

When the company first started, Guzmán expected to see interest primarily from geographies that prioritize inclusivity, “but what we’re finding actually is that it’s not the case,” she said. The interest is broad-reaching across all 50 states, including those where restrictions on LGBTQ+ rights abound. Employers pushing for these services also drives up payer interest, Guzmán added.

As an employer, offering these types of benefits can impact the surrounding community in a good way, Guzmán says. It communicates solidarity, especially in states that are restricting LGBTQ+ rights, and it helps spread positive awareness: “It is arming people with knowledge and then that knowledge, I think, just trickles out.”
