Berry Street, Abbott partner to link Lingo CGM with nutrition coaching

Nutrition care company Berry Street and Abbott inked a partnership aimed at expanding personalized nutrition support.

Through the partnership, Abbott’s Lingo, an over-the-counter continuous glucose monitor, will now feature live nutrition coaching from Berry Street. The tie-up combines Abbott's Lingo glucose insights with Berry Street's registered dietitians trained on Lingo, who will interpret glucose data into personalized nutrition plans tailored to an individual's health goals, the companies said.

The Lingo glucose system is designed for individuals 18 years and older who do not use insulin. It turns real-time glucose data into personalized insights, allowing users to understand how food, exercise, sleep and stress affect glucose levels and metabolic health.

Berry Street provides personalized, evidence-based metabolic care through its nationwide network of 1,800-plus clinicians and has served more than 200,000 patients through collaborations with Amazon, Walmart, and other health plans and consumer platforms.

Its services, which support more than 30 conditions, are in-network with more than 1,250 health plans, and 96% of users face no out-of-pocket costs, executives say.

“For too long, nutrition guidance has relied on broad recommendations that may not reflect how an individual's body actually responds to food,” said Noah Kotlove, Berry Street CEO and co-founder, in a statement. “The combination of continuous glucose insights and registered dietitian expertise creates a more personalized approach to nutrition. Together with Lingo, we're helping consumers move beyond guesswork and build sustainable habits rooted in a deeper understanding of their health."

Specifically, users can now access registered dietitians specially trained on Lingo, received personalized nutrition recommendations based on glucose trends and meet virtually in one-on-one appointments.

The partnership allows Berry Street users to obtain Lingo at a discounted price and a 15% discount on four-week plans.

Moreover, executives say the partnership builds on Abbott’s commitment to helping individuals improve their health through “science-backed nutrition innovation.”

“At Abbott, we believe the future of health lies in giving people the tools and support they need to understand their bodies and take action,” said Olivier Ropars, Abbott's Lingo business divisional vice president, in a statement. “By partnering with Berry Street, we're combining the advanced biosensing technology of Lingo with expert nutrition guidance to help people make informed nutrition and lifestyle decisions that can support healthy habits over time.”

It’s the latest expansion from Berry Street.

In August, the company announced a merger with India-based Healthify to build out what executives said is the largest insurance-covered AI metabolic health platform in the U.S.

The merger combines Healthify’s artificial intelligence-driven technology, including nutrition and metabolic health assistant Ria, with Berry Street’s network.
