Health Tech Roundup—Providers' AI sentiment improves; Prosperity EHR launches for behavioral health

Athenahealth survey of community practitioners finds improved perception of AI

According to findings from its fourth-annual Physician Sentiment Survey (PSS), athenahealth says there has been a positive sentiment shift about the practice of medicine in the age of AI. Fewer physicians say they’re thinking about leaving the profession, and perceptions of work/life balance and an adequate amount of time with patients are increasing.

“In 2023, 40% of physicians thought AI was being overhyped and could not meet expectations,” the report says. “In 2025, only 27% of physicians share this sentiment.”

Only half of physicians say they feel more comfortable today using AI in their practices. The report finds that of younger clinicians, with less than 10 years of experience, 70% are very familiar or somewhat familiar with AI.

Physicians expressed the most comfort and confidence with using AI for administrative tasks like clinical documentation and identifying patterns in patient data. Athenahealth found that male physicians are 20% more likely to use AI than female physicians.

Sentara taps Inflo Health for missed radiology follow-ups

North Carolina and Virginia non-profit hospital system Sentara Health announced a partnership with AI company Inflo Health on Wednesday to increase follow-up appointments, by closing the loop on imaging recommendations.

"Good healthcare outcomes require a partnership among providers, patients and clinical support teams, such as care managers and navigators," Kurt Hofelich, vice president of ambulatory services for Sentara, said in a statement. "We believe Inflo Health will help us ensure that patients needing follow-up care are engaged and encouraged to connect with an appropriate provider. This new process offers additional outreach to remind patients of their radiology findings and help them receive the care they need."

Inflo’s technology identifies unscheduled follow-ups to recapture revenue without adding clinical staff. Its natural language processing identifies follow-up recommendations in radiology reports, automates care orchestration, and provides robust tracking and monitoring to drive outreach to patients and providers. Inflo will integrate with Sentara’s electronic health record system.

"Every missed follow-up is a missed opportunity to improve patient health and outcomes," Angela Adams, CEO of Inflo Health, said in a statement. "We are excited to partner with Sentara to deliver an integrated approach that leverages advanced analytics, streamlines clinical workflow, and ensures no patient falls through the cracks. With Sentara's commitment to quality, safety, and equitable care, we see this partnership as a way to amplify innovation and truly transform the patient experience."

New EHR launches for behavioral health providers

A new electronic health record company for behavioral health, ProsperityEHR, launched on Wednesday to bring smarter technology to the hands of behavioral health clinicians.

The custom EHR was built by Epic alumni, clinicians and clinical operators. It was born out of the acquisition of TheraManager DocuTrac by Renaissance Holdings in 2022. The record system automates scheduling and insurance verification, guides note authoring and integrates Zoom telehealth into the platform.

The system also provides reports on the health of the practice, tracks compliance and has an integrated clearinghouse for real-time eligibility checking and claims submission.

"ProsperityEHR is more than a modern software solution; we're a growth partner for behavioral health practices. As the behavioral health landscape continues to evolve, we're ready to support providers in navigating these changes through our AI-ready architecture, ensuring they are equipped with the tools to thrive in a dynamic environment and weather any storm," Melissa Tran, CEO of ProsperityEHR, said in a statement. "Our EHR platform is designed to empower behavioral health practices to scale, optimize revenue cycles, and ultimately deliver better patient outcomes through our seamless integration and strong interoperability capabilities."

A press release says the company will have 50 clients onboarded by the end of the year. The EHR is already operational at a number of sites, including Clear View Behavioral Health.

"ProsperityEHR has made administrative tasks much more efficient while also streamlining documentation for our clinicians. The system is intuitive, even for non-tech savvy users," Jessica Rivera, owner and Clinical Director of Clear View Behavioral Services, said. "I am so pleased to utilize ProsperityEHR because it simplifies daunting tasks like charting for therapists, and ensures nothing falls through the cracks. The support the ProsperityEHR team provided before, during, and after 'Go Live' was tremendous, as well, and significantly decreased my anxiety about the migration!"
