Artificial intelligence communications company Infinitus announced Wednesday the launch of agentic AI agents designed to aid pharmaceutical companies’ sales representatives and field reimbursement managers.

The company is extending its AI platform beyond payer and call center workflows into pharmaceutical commercial operations. Infinitus has launched FieldForce, a suite of AI agents designed to help pharmaceutical sales representatives and field reimbursement managers support more healthcare providers without increasing headcount.

The FieldForce agents support sales representatives before, during and after interactions with healthcare professionals. The agents connect with field teams’ customer relationship management systems to pull together information to prepare for a meeting, capture notes and update systems afterward. Additional FieldForce agents can be available for inbound calls 24/7 to support providers by answering questions between visits.

For field reimbursement managers, the agents can answer questions about prior authorization status, claims, reimbursement and onboard provider offices with approved access materials, the company says.

“FieldForce came out of an observation we’ve heard repeatedly from our pharmaceutical customers: field teams are being asked to cover more providers and handle more complexity, but with the same, or in some cases, fewer resources,” said Ankit Jain, Infinitus CEO and co-founder.

Jain told Fierce Healthcare that Infinitus sees AI as a way to augment field teams, not replace them.

“FieldForce gives sales and reimbursement teams AI support before, after, and in between their interactions with providers, so people can spend more of their time on relationships and handling the complex issues that require a human,” Jain said.

Jain added it reflects “a broader shift” in the industry.

“Companies are under real pressure to improve productivity and operate more efficiently, and the organizations adopting AI successfully are finding ways to fundamentally increase their capacity,” Jain said. “FieldForce is designed around that AI-first approach.”

Being “healthcare-native rather than a generic AI layer” is one of the components that differentiates the agents, Jain said.

“The agents are built on Infinitus's experience managing millions of real-world patient, provider and payor interactions, along with our proprietary dynamic knowledge graph and the organization-specific data and approved resources each pharma company provides,” Jain said. “That gives the agents context around the highly regulated workflows and distinctions that matter in pharma.”

And, according to Jain, Infinitus Lens, a conversational insights engine, provides monitoring across all interactions and can uncover trends like prescribing patterns and more.

“That gives field leaders visibility into what's happening across their teams much faster than traditional reporting cycles,” Jain said. “And finally, FieldForce is built on the same platform capabilities that power the broader Infinitus system.”
