SPOTLIGHT: Hospital fires CFO
Danbury (Conn.) Hospital fired its senior vice president and CFO William Roe, after he was charged with wire fraud, interstate transport of stolen funds, witness tampering and obstruction of justice, NewsTimes.com reports. Roe allegedly signed two checks--each for $45,000 from Danbury Health Systems, the hospital's parent company--made out to Cycle Software Solutions, a private business he owns. Roe was arrested on Aug. 17 on the Danbury wire fraud and interstate transport of stolen funds charges. He also allegedly tried to force the hospital CEO to help him make the case go away.
