Valley Presbyterian Hospital Appoints New Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer

VAN NUYS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Valley Presbyterian Hospital (VPH) announced today the appointment of Michelle Quigley as its new Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, effective March 1, 2011.

Quigley brings more than 30 years of nursing experience to Valley Presbyterian Hospital. She most recently served as Chief Nursing Officer responsible for overall management of Nursing Services and Patient Care Services with a staff of 570 at Marin General Hospital, a 235 acute-care bed hospital in Greenbrae, California.

Quigley also has directed Medical, Oncology and Surgical Units at Marin General and directed the hospital’s Acute Care and Nursing Resources Department. She previously has directed Acute Care Services and Nursing Services at California Pacific Medical Center, a 1,250-bed center in San Francisco, was Clinical Manager for Pediatrics at University of Chicago Hospital’s Wyler Children’s Hospital, and has experience in the corporate sector with Humana and Ameritech, and academia with University of Illinois and Chicago Public Schools system.

Quigley holds an Associate degree in Applied Science in Nursing from Prairie State College in Illinois, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Governor’s State University in Illinois, and a Master’s of Science degree in Nursing Service Administration from University of Chicago.
