WI nurses fired over cell photos of X-ray
Comments
The nursnot only should be fired but their licenses should be pulled and not ever restored. This ethical violation is unconscionable.
their union (if they have one)should be behind them...although very unprofessional and childish, unless they leaked any personal identifying information about the patient (name, hospital Identification number, etc)...it does not appear that they breached any laws, and they should not have lost their jobs. Discipline, yes, but there is not much grounds for firing them.
MArtha good example of violating patient rights and HIPPA
While I am not commenting on the merits of the article - I would like to say in general that a sence of privacy and trust must be maintained for people to not only seek the healthcare they need, but also the confidence that they can do so with relative privacy and security in teh ethics of all people involved.
If people who seek out care do not feel comfortable with fully detailing their concerns or illness - this only hinders the effective delivery of meaningfuly and accurate healthcare, at the best speed possible.
