WellPoint's Angela Braly - CEO Compensation
Comments
This is so cool, I hope she enjoys the money. We (all of IT) just got laid and they outsourced our jobs to Malaysia and Panama. 360 people got laid off and our last day is August 3, 2009. At least she can sleep well not worrying about taking care of HER family.
I have Blue cross Anthem insurance through my work. I make $35,000 a year. I have Lupus and Diabetes. Many times I have to do without insulin and other medications because I cannot pay the deductable. But I’m so proud of my insurance health care company Anaheim-Blue Cross-Blue Shield- WellPoint. They made a profit of $3.345 billion last year. Go, go Angela. I can do without insulin if it helps my insurance company make more money and maybe Ms Braly will get that much needed raise, way to represent women were so proud of you.
It takes some special genius to raise insurance premiums to get back to profitability...she's worth every penny.
Well for shizzle ain't no glass ceiling stopping her. Don't be so hard on her, she has a family to take care of I'm sure. Oil changes on the bimmers ain't cheap ya know.
To the top three comments: Give me a freakin break folks - Ms. Braly is doing what any good CEO would do and that is take care of the shareholders of the company. Last I checked - this is a democracy and the best one on earth. You have the ability through hard work to make it to CEO of a large company and make the kind of money you see in this article. Good for her and thank God we live in this great country. Rather than spend your time sobbing over misfortune - get back out there and try to better yourself.
I know that both Ms. Braly and Wellpoint do great things for charity and give back in a big way.
Let's all be thankful for what we have and enjoy the Chrismas holiday.
Mrs. Braly and her company discriminate against those with autism.
