Upside to physician burnout: Finding niche role

There is one upside to physician burnout--finding one's niche, according to Kenneth Cohn, a surgeon and CEO of Healthcare Collaboration. After Cohn's 86-year-old mother went to the hospital for a blood clot, an emergency room physician explained to Cohn his mother's condition and care, he wrote in a Hospital Impact blog post. The ER physician was reassuring and very easy to talk to, Cohn noted. The ER doctor had been a heart surgeon for eight years.
