If you're in the industry's cross-hairs, this may not surprise you much, but it's still a bit painful to consider. Apparently, the pharmaceutical industry spends twice as much on marketing and promotion of drugs as it does on research and development. I don't know about you, but that makes me wonder what they're not developing while they're busy upselling to MDs. Article
