Roughly three-fourths of nurses spend at least three hours of a 12-hour shift focusing on tasks such as redundant paperwork, entering and reviewing orders, and walking to equipment or supply areas instead of on direct patient care a survey of more than 1,600 nurses conducted by Jackson Healthcare reports.
