Editors at the venerable New England Journal of Medicine must be a bit embarrassed this week, having had to issue a correction admitting that it should have disclosed that a lung-cancer detection study's author had funding from a tobacco company. Last month, it came out that study author Claudia Henschke accepted roughly $3.6 million in funding through a foundation funded by Vector Group, parent company of cigarette maker Liggett Group.
