Over the last thirty years, melanoma has increased in white women aged 15-39 at a significantly higher rate than in white men of the same age group. The report from the National Cancer Institute says that the rise in melanoma incidence corresponds with an increase in the use of tanning beds and sunburn, which bring more exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
