Map would allow NY residents to track cancer
Each year, there are 200,000 new cancer cases reported to the New York State Health Department. Now, the state legislature has passed a measure that would give residents access to a detailed map showing where the cancers occur. The map would also show how close the cancer cases are to industrial facilities such as power plants and chemical factories. Advocates of the measure say that they're unaware of any other state that reports cancer data in this manner. Article
