Having been frequently exposed to processes like Lean and Six Sigma, which have become common in the facilities it regulates, the Joint Commission is studying how it might bring those processes in-house. Over the rest of the year, it will look at ways to embed such processes in its internal procedures. As part of its efforts, the group is considering whether it should assess how well healthcare facilities have implemented related quality efforts. Article
