Japan

You can officially add Japan to the list of Asian countries fighting for their share of the medical tourism pie. Japanese officials are planning to begin marketing its hospitals, which might not be much cheaper than the U.S., but enjoy an excellent reputation for quality, cleanliness and good service. Government officials hope to use the money to close budget gaps for the struggling facilities; right now, they pay 80 percent of the bills themselves. As much as I advocate for Medical tourism unfortunately my worse experiences have been in Japan and the US. I have had surgeries in India and Mexico and they were the best by far. Japan has a long way to come in order to gain some Medical Tourism dollars. For starters their prices need to be cut in half. If they can manage that then maybe they have a fighting chance.
