SPOTLIGHT: Georgia revamping CON, ASC rules
The deed is done. Georgia has officially passed a new law that not only streamline's the state's CON program, but also allows general surgeons to open ambulatory surgery centers without prior approval. The Georgia Hospital Association, whose members aren't thrilled by the prospect of new competition, previously had filed a lawsuit opposing the changes allowing the new ASCs.
