California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) seems to be getting closer to a deal that will get his health reform plans enacted. His plan, like the Massachusetts scheme, would require all residents to purchase health coverage. It would also tax doctors and hospitals, as well as employers who don't provide insurance themselves. If Schwarzenegger can get his plan through, it could prove to be even more influential than the Massachusetts plan, given the state's size and influential status in the healthcare industry. Article
