Plan would tax well-insured to cover uninsured

Here's an idea that is likely to create to a firestorm of criticism from those lucky enough to enjoy health coverage: A growing number of health reform plan leaders on the Hill are considering a plan under which the government would tax people who have high-priced health benefits from their employers to pay for those who have no coverage at all.

Right now, payments employers make to pay for a worker's health insurance aren't taxed as income, and employees pay their share of premiums with before-tax earnings. Proposals being discussed on the Hill would consider some of the value of this spending as income and tax it that way. Congressional estimates suggest such a tax could yield a whopping $100 billion over five years.

But analysts warn that while the idea may sound like a sweet and simple way to finance health reform, the plan could actually hit many workers hard who aren't affluent, and raise the cost of coverage further. Others suggest that such a tax could undermine the whole concept of an employer-based health insurance system.

We should be requiring everyone to have health savings plan accounts that are tax free. It would require everyone to save $100 to $200 a month in this account. No government or insurance plan is needed to cover healthcare for the average American. Then insurance plans and Medicaid/Medicare can cover catastrophic events. Low income or welfare citizens would be required to do community service and the government would pay for the $100 to $200.

Don't you think that the government is already thinking about how to tax HSA's? If they are considering taxing the "benefit" of employer sponsored healthcare, I am sure they have considered taxing HSA's.

"Divide and conquer" always was a good way for the oligarchs and tyrants to ensure that people kept fighting among themselves and deflected their attention as the oligarchy (in our case, the bought politicians and the corporatocracy who pay them) robbed them blind. This is straight out of Machiavelli.

I wonder if the congressional health benefits will be taxed as well. They currently pay nothing for superior coverage

The religious groups have been known, to step up and become responsible for the low income and or paupers within the Americas. However, the need for healthcare now since the 1950's which was appropriated by the charities of sisters and other groups before them are becoming exhausted.

The populations of the poor and paupers are growing. The healthcare prevention plans are not meeting the needs of the American citizens whom have HMO, PPO, Commercial, Medicare and medicaid.

Therefore, to continue, to hard press the fortunate for more cash flow funds for the poor is redundant and useless. Because poverty is becoming a household identity.
We need to develop a no free lunch program for all Americams, to participate in. Create a workforce which entails labor and delivery, social services, education, housing and proper zoning.
This intergration of systems will not only promote jobs, supply employment which all multiple intelligences can apply for, but create a safe haven for our American people.

1. Expand the memory in the main frame computers in the healthcare system which encrypts and has the ability to create a local area networks, star networks, etc.
2. This information could be new borns identity and transforms into social services mainframes as a social security number.
3.the social security number is then entered into another complex data encryption which opens up another avenue in the clients zoning pre k opportunities, once the child reaches 4 years of age.
4. The educational system toggles back to the healthcare system and prepares appointment schedules for the patient.

This is a trillion dollar budget based on computer utilization, and enormous amount of ram and rom. But each phase employs Americans interlata and intralata. Each individual works for his or her healthcare, housing, and education.

Food can be on the table each day of the week.

We have so many resources which are staples in the Americas, which can keep us plowing ahead, we do not have enough courage to pull it off.
We are afraid we will be laughed at. The budget is too costly. We are a people whom need one another, then why are we not using one another in a healthy positive manner?

Taxing health benefits will only adversely affect a bad economy. Most with health insurance took jobs that had average or lower pay but because of the benefits. Increasing the tax burden on these working people will leave them unable to pay bills, unable to remain consumers of many goods and more services will be lost. Because of FEAR of the GOP and their LOUD and foolish mouths we still fail to truly tax the wealthy. We also fail to go to single payer health insurance. We destroy the middle class constantly because of the greed of certain politicians. Its time to put THEM on the unemployment line. Yes, its also time to remove the health care benefits to the Senate and the Congress After all they represent the very people whom they will not provide similar coverage to.
