More details in Tenet trial

More details emerged that suggest the Alvarado Medical Center trial in San Diego may be headed for an impasse. The Wall Street Journal reports that the jury in the case is bitterly divided and has remained in deliberations for much longer than is customary in criminal proceedings. Federal prosecutors charge that the Tenet-operated hospital violated Stark amendment rules regulating hospital behavior when it awarded relocation bonuses to doctors willing to move to the San Diego area. The case is being closely followed by Wall Street for signs of what the future may hold for Tenet.
