When CountyCare expands Medicaid to all Cook County, Ill., residents in January, newly eligible patients likely will be older and sicker than the broader population, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Since most of these patients have ignored their health over the years, they have a higher chance of suffering from multiple chronic conditions.
