An article in The Tennessean reports that, according to Healthways, more than 300 doctors, group practices and health systems are fighting to continue a pilot program that provides support for chronically ill Medicare recipients in Maryland and Washington, D.C. According to some within the program, it has served "more than 75 percent of the 20,000 beneficiaries originally eligible." Healthways is based in Nashville and is one of five participants in the pilots.
