Leapfrog announces Highest Value Hospitals

The Leapfrog Group has announced the names of what it considers to be the nation's Highest Value Hospitals based on its review of over 1,220 hospitals. The hospitals were chosen on a combination of high quality and cost effectiveness.

Hospitals were ranked based on their efficiency scores, which were a combination of their quality and resource utilization scores on four major procedures: coronary artery bypass graft, percutaneous coronary interventions, treatment of acute myocardial infarction, and pneumonia care. In order to make the list, they had to have a top efficiency score for three out of four of these procedures.

Though you can click through to read all of the top hospitals, it's worth noting that the only states with multiple hospitals named were California, with two, and Minnesota, with three.
