LA officials grapple with hospital death
Comments
This entire event is just another example of nurses who either need to get more time-off, under-staffed and maybe even needng to transfer to another department of the hospital. Nurses who work in this profession not just for the money but compassion for those in need, are far & few between. But pain is what the patient says it is. Whether you think you know or not. That's basic medical knowledge. No matter how many times she's been there & no matter how non-compliant she's been. The entire medical staff is getting paid to do their damn job-to provide a service to the community; the patients are the customer. You're not there to judge and decide who, when and what time frame, wil get medical care according to your standards or your "mood". If it were thier family member, there would be so much hell to pay. From the hospital administration on down to the EMT's and ER tech's working in the ER! The nurses and doctors need to be held accountable for this womans death. And NOT! admin leave(w/ pay) either. Give me a freak'n break! We're talking about something that no one can replace-a HUMAN LIFE! Be placed out of work and barred from ever working in the medical feild. The comments about her repeated visits were totally uncalled for. You went to school to be a nurse/doctor and your getting paid to do your freak'n job. So do it! if not quit freak'm whinning about the patient load and what aptient is here for the 'umpth-teenth"! time this week or month! Do the public a favor & quit and get a job outside the medical feild. There's no true compassion and care for the public who enter the doors at this hospital. This is just so sad and if the ER staff don't lose their liscences, it'll be unjust. After all, how can you compare a human life to a liscence? You can still get a job and your family still has theier loved one. This poor womans family has lost so much more. I hope that just will be done and this womans family will be compensated to a degree-becasue we can't return life after loss.
why just the nurses, everyone there is equally responsible.
This is absolutely horrible! I'm apalled at the delayed response of the hospital staff conerning this woman who was ill and died. That particular staff member involved in the incident of the woman's death should have had her nursing licensed revoked. It's stories like this that make me think twice about going to an understaffed, underpaid and careless hospital for poor and uninsured patients. Is this what we have to look forward to for people who just can't afford to pay for health insurance? This particular circumstance paints a very bad picture. I agree that I hope this woman's family will be compensated to a very high degree due to the lack of attention on behalf of the hospital staff. They disgust me and I hope they get their medical licenses revoked!
