Jackson case highlights difficulty in saying no to patients
Comments
I think these days doctors in private practice rarely hesitate to dismiss patients like Michael Jackson or Rush Limbaugh. I cannot imagine any decent, well-qualified physician wanting to change his practice status to "Sole physician of a celeb" for $150K a month . The politicians have been pushing medical profession to prescribe all kinds of medicines to people in pain. It makes no sense for physicians to heed this. They have to do all that is professionally and ethically correct. It may make them "unpopular" and cause the patient to seek a different doctor..so be it.
