Hospitals piling up nuclear waste

Most medical waste is class A waste and can go to a dump in Utah and comprises only about 1% of low level waste. The Barnwell dump here in South Carolina is indeed closed to all states but SC, NJ and CT but this article smells like a scare tactic from the nuclear power industry to either get Barnwell to reopen (boy, would that be a fight) or to come up with another plan, like dumping in commercial landfills.
