Healthy Choices: Nine Healthcare Bloggers Worth a Click

Tools

As any web user knows, there are thousands of healthcare bloggers out there. But of course, all blogs are not made equal. Some offer that soupcon of personality, great insider insights or just the ability to make us laugh at ourselves in a way few of their peers do. And those are the blogs (and tweets) worth putting on your must-read list.

We've compiled a list of nine of our favorite healthcare bloggers and tweeters (in no particular order), a diverse mix with a wide range of information and commentary to share. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do. Start the slideshow

PS: We'd be remiss if we didn't ask you to also take a look at our own blog, Hospital Impact. While we can't, in good conscience, add it to the above list, feel free to visit the site, which boasts posts from several healthcare industry insiders.

Great list! But no women?!!!

Excellent list - but yes, I too was surprised to see only men. I was hoping to see Barbara Olson's blog, "Florence Dot Com" on your list. Barbara is a Masters-trained nurse who was an ISMP Fellow last year. She is an extremely engaging writer with great views on patient safety and systems improvement. Here's a link:

Tom, and anyone else who raises this objection, you're absolutely right. Though I'm a woman, for some reason men write all of the blogs I currently frequent. Please do suggest the best female medbloggers you know, both for future acknowledgement and attention by our editors.

no women make the top nine? what about joanne kenen's terrific entries on new america foundation's new health blog: http://www.newamerica.net/blog/health.

and what about scott hensley on NPR's health blog http://www.npr.org/blogs/health ?

@jensmccabe. Contagion Health, NextHealth(NL), hmrx.posterous...

How about www.medicalinformationcenter.org edited by Shirley Linde, best-selling medical author?

The website features video news reports on medical subjects as well as having links to health associations, professional groups, government agencies, universities, hospitals, and support networks where you can get the latest news and medical information.
Readers and persons in the health field are invited to recommend their favorite health help links.6

As a woman medical blogger, I'd like to recommend my company: Better Health: www.getbetterhealth.com Probably the largest network of top independent medical blogs online.
