Federal appeals court hears health reform challenges

Three judges in a federal appeals court in Richmond, Va., today will hear two lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the healthcare reform law. In Liberty University v. Geithner, Mathew Staver, the dean of university's law school will argue why the law's individual and employer mandates violate the Constitution, as well as infringe on religious freedoms. In Virginia v. Sebelius, the Commonwealth of Virginia is appealing U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson's ruling invalidating the individual mandate provision. Rulings are expected within the next couple of months and likely will boost them to the top of the list to be heard by the Supreme Court, notes Fox News. Article
