Former Merck CEO donates $50 million to Columbia University Medical Center

Dr. Roy Vagelos, former chairman and CEO of Merck, will donate $50 million to help construct a new medical and graduate education building in Washington Heights for Columbia University Medical Center, the Wall Street Journal reports. Vagelos is chairman of the medical center's board of visitors and is heading up a $185 million medical center campus revitalization plan. He also happens to be a 1954 graduate of Columbia's College of Physicians and Surgeons. Article
