Foreign doctors flood residency program
Comments
As you now Australia will
stop immigration of AIDS
cases and other Chronic diseases as Leprae. Why do not
doing in unskilled migrant .
On the other hand Physicians abroad have more experience in Clinical Cases because students learn in vivo not in plastic models.
The real truth is that program directors jobs and the accreditation of the programs are at stake if the residents do not pass their exams. What is happening is all the programs across the country are taken more and more doctors who have already completed training in their own country so the residency programs themselves do not have to spent alot of time training them. The directors know they will pass all the service exams and they will not be at threat of losing their own jobs by administration. Plus, the programs hold a visa on these foreign doctors so they are "slave" labor. If you get fired they must leave the US.
The sad thing is myself and many others have 200K+ in student loans that we can not repay. Even with my MD degree I can not compete for a residency with a doctor from India who has been in practice for 15 years. Residency programs have fallen victim to money, greed, and lazyness.
