Comments about Periodicals story about CVS Change to Win, a group of unions that represents about six million workers, has accused CVS Caremark (CVS) of improperly pushing doctors to prescribe Merck & Co's (MRK) Januvia, a costly diabetes drug, to patients' treatments and of violating patient privacy. The Wall Street Journal reports that, according to a recent study, Januvia is up to eight times more expensive than other diabetes treatments and doctors believe patients may not need the drug. CVS contends that it does not try to improperly switch patients to more expensive drugs.
