This is just an attack by the well funded American Hospital Association on alternative health care delivery. If a hospital is expected to meet a certain level of care, then it should, but the entire industry should not be condemned because of an adverse event. Let's talk about all of the complications and deaths that occur in "legacy" hospitals, shall we? I can recall reading lots of cases where patients died of screwups in legacy hospitals.
The government puts its finger up in the political wind. Baucus has been highly critical of alternative health care delivery systems...too much like a private market. This study is one-sided, and the conclusion foreordained.
