Cleveland Clinic, MinuteClinic team up

The Cleveland Clinic and Minneapolis-based MinuteClinic are set to team up to provide retail clinics to several CVS stores across northeast Ohio in the coming year according to an article in Modern Healthcare.

MinuteClinic, already a subsidiary of CVS Caremark, will integrate its EMR systems with the Cleveland Clinic in order to make treating patients a non-issue across all nine of the proposed retail clinic sites. Each clinic will be staffed with one nurse practitioner and will have clinical consultation provided by a medical director from the Cleveland Clinic.

All of this comes in the wake of an announced salary freeze by the Cleveland Clinic just a little more than a month ago, as well as a study that showed the retail clinic boom may be slowing down.
