Bush focuses on healthcare in speech
Comments
I am sorry, but objecting to a $380 dollar insurance cost is ludicrous. While I realize everyone should have the right to healtcare, to offer it free to some only penalizes those who already pay for it more heavily, because those who already pay have to pay more for those who receive it for free. While Bush wanting to re-direct $40B is insane, since we all know how easily any state can mishandle money, the unfair payout of funds to hospitals will only continue if the system is not changed in some way.
I must disagree with the Presidents "Affordable Choices Initiative" and any proposed tax increases. No one can argue that Medicade and healthcare costs must be controlled. The state of our healthcare industry is at an all time low. Many hospitals and institutions are going out of business because of the misguided mistakes of government officials. I do not think that it would be a good idea to adopt a hard-line, radical approach to this by raising taxes and diverting money away from the hospitals and clinics that provide healthcare services. This strategy would put Billions $$$ into the deep pockets of state bureaucrats who care more about their own political agendas than the quality of healthcare for all Americans. This would be a mockery. Why not pass the cost on to the pharmaceutical companies?
